To date we have had lecturers in core subjects such as Decontamination and Cross Infection Control, Legal and Ethical issues and Medical Emergencies.

We ran a successful two day hands on whitening seminar with Linda Greenwall which was very well attended.

In May 2011 we were very lucky to have Phil Ower the renowned Periodontist join us for a two day course on all aspects of Periodontics. He was very entertaining and extremely well received. Phil has been back to lecture three times in total. He never disappoints.

Quitline have presented a couple of evenings to help equip us with the knowledge and tools to encourage our patients to stop smoking.

We enjoyed a fascinating if not rather, gory morning listening to Professor Geoff Craig's Forensic Odontology lecture in April 2012!

The GSYHTA revisited the core topic of how to manage Medical Emergencies when Joe Omar paid us another visit in April 2012. He really brings this serious subject to life. We hope to have him back in about 2 years.

Iain Macleod from Newcastle University joined us in September 2012 to present an update on Oral Medicine. He delivered a comprehensive and well received lecture.

Iain Macleod joined us again in October 2013 to share his knowledge on Radiography. We had an excellent attendance from most of the Guernsey practices and as always he made the subject interesting and accessible.

Iain made a further trip to Guernsey to update us on IRMER radiography in 2018.

Juliette Reeves enlightened us re Implant Maintenance and will return in 2020 to talk about Nutrition.

Deepak Simkhada shared his wisdom in March 2016 re how to make Periodontal Treatment work in General Practice.

Karen Walker came over in 2017 to deliver her lecture on Empowering the Dental Hygienist and how to care for patients with Implants.

Christine Macleavy delivered a hands on Local Anaesthetic Update in 2016 This was very well received.

Sonia Allen was here in October 2018 to update us on Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children.

We are looking forward to welcoming Faye Donald in May 2019. She is a certified Swiss Dental Academy trainer and will lecture on the role of AIRFLOW and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)
